Greetings Rich,
Smiley is requesting the following items for the RO plant:
4 pallets (40 bags per pallet) Calcium carbonate (emailed request to Danny Vicars Friday 2/3/17)
2 drums (55 gallons per drum) Sulfuric acid (not in the original request - he verbally requested it with me on Monday 2/6/17)
2 boxes (25 units per box) 5 micron by 40 inch long Cartridge filters (emailed request)
The TSG quote of $6,247.05, supporting documents and shipping quote are attached for your review.
The last time the Calcium carbonate and Sulfuric acid was ordered was September 2015. The current prices on these items are lower than the 2015 prices.
The last time the filters were stocked was February 2010. The current price of the filters are also lower than the 2010 price.
I am waiting for Smiley to confirm that all of the items and quantities are to his satisfaction. Once he does I am requesting permission to proceed with this order.
Bob Petersen suggested that, for the same shipping cost, we could add another 2 boxes of the filters. They are good to have on hand, so I will mention to Smiley and see if he agrees with the change order.
The items will be delivered to Tropical Shipping FL. We will then ship to STT on our account.
Estimated overall costs:
TSG, including freight to FL: $ 6,650.02 (If Smiley wants to increase the filters based on Bob's recommendation)
Tropical Shipping to STT: $ 1,044.72 (Estimate based on 7 pallets - 3' x 3' x 3.5', 500 pounds each) Customs clearance fees: $ 75.00 (No Customs duties if all products made in the USA) $ 7,769.74

do not believe we ran out of calcium carbonate statement is accurate as we all (brice/anna/daphne and i) spent a lot of time pricing from TSG and others
brice mentions below that smiley requested and daphne says the same that smiley and danny requested calcium carbonate
never once was it stated to be an emergency as we were out of stock because if so we would have ordered from TSG on 2/9 and not obtained pricing from other vendors
note - calcium carbonate wire to TSG was sent 2/17 after we received pricing from 2 other vendors which were more expensive
