DINNER INVITE: Exploring the Politics of Inequality
Dear John,
I am writing to invite you to an off-the-record dinner discussion, hosted by the Washington Center for Equitable Growth, to discuss the interaction between politics and economic inequality. The conversation will be moderated by myself and our Senior Director for Policy and Academic Programs, Elisabeth Jacobs. Cecilia Muñoz, Assistant to the President and Director of the White House Domestic Policy Council, will offer opening remarks before we open the table to discussion.
In recent years, we have seen both court decisions and legislation that stand to further polarize the distribution of political power. The goal of this dinner is to have a frank and open discussion about the implications of this polarization, with a focus on whether and how politics and governance serve as a channel through which economic inequality impacts economic growth and stability.
As someone who is deeply engaged in the conversation about political power, we hope you will be able to join us for this important discussion. The dinner will take place at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, September 16th at Bibiana (1100 New York Avenue NW, Washington, DC 20005). To RSVP, please e-mail Jessica Fulton at jfulton@equitablegrowth.org by Monday, September 14th, 2015.
Best regards,
Heather Boushey
Executive Director
Washington Center for Equitable Growth
