The draft statement is solid but I read it last night with Cheryl’s “humble leadership” tone in mind. If that’s still a goal (I think it should be), I told Dan more could be done in this area. We could also do more with the moment she has…hard to talk through on a big call but if there’s a few minutes maybe the three of us could talk. John’s suggestion that a Committee member use the “terrific Sec/State but she’s not ready to be Google’s CTO” frame also made sense to me. We didn’t hash it out yesterday, but there should be a way to do this without running into the concern Mandy has (“new fangled machines”). Good to discuss also. Thanks.

Tomorrow morning ‹ please find below the option for staff transportation to Capitol Hill tomorrow. We would strongly encourage folks to consider carpooling/Ubering to Whitehaven so we don¹t have too many cars at the house tomorrow. Having said that, please gather at the residence (3067 Whitehaven Street, NW) by 8:15 AM for an 8:30 AM departure. Connolly Keigher will be at the residence to meet you outside if you have any questions/issues. We will have a staff van (driver: Greg Brown, 619-550-9530, greg.browne@me.com) take everyone to the Longworth House Office Building (9 Independence Avenue, SE). Doug Landry (225-229-3684, dblandry@gmail.com), our lead advance, will meet and escort you into the staff hold room. While we encourage everyone to travel together, if you choose go to to Longworth HOB on your own, please enter through the Independence Avenue, SE entrance and contact Doug. At the conclusion of the hearing, people are welcome to depart independently, or return via the staff van back to Whitehaven.
