This is what I have found out thus far. I can call the Anne Golden, the Chairperson of the Casino Commission to see where they are today.
USVI's internet law passed in August 2001 and amended in June 2002; the law presently requires online gambling companies that operate here to use software banning access from gamblers logging on from companies in the USVI.
November 2002: Casino Commission passed a set of regulations for Internet gaming on November 25, 2002; regulations passed even though Commission members had concerns as to the legality of internet gaming as it relates to federal law; two Internet gaming master franchisors have been selected: USVI Technology Initiative (STT; Nick Purzal) and Internet Group (STX: Todd Newman and Hunt Logan).
November 2011: Governor John de Jongh, Jr. received a letter from R. Bradley Creger of the Internet Group, LLC (STX) stating that pursuant to VI Code, Title 32, Sec 646, they are renewing their option for an additional 2yrs their Master Service Provider Agreement as the industry has been in limbo and that they believe the initial ten year period has not begun to run
January 23, 2013: Casino Commission members met with Continent 8 Technologies (Michael Tobin, CEO — specializes on online gaming hosting services) with European-based data centers that provide secure platforms for technology companies to host their online gaming operations) and Joseph Kelly (co-editor of Gaming Law Review and Economics) to issue online gaming in the USVI and issues related to a potential conflict with the Interstate Wire Act of 1961 ("Federal Wire Act") — with U.S. Dept of Justice clarifying that retrictions to placing wagers that are detailed in the Federal Wire Act are limited to regulating sporting events.
July 2014: Mario Galea, consultant visited with Casino Commission and noted a few things: 1)STX would be a great hub for traffic but lacks the financial and data services, 2) STX lacks a secure network and, 3) it lacks high-end office space offerings.
March 2015: International Masters of Gaming Law held its annual meeting on STT. Not sure of the outcome.
Presently no online gaming exists.

Note: STT also has Video Lottery Terminals (VLT's)

Cecile de Jongh
