Thank you, Nasra
It has been a pleasure working with you. I understand that Andrea and Chelsea are exploring mechanisms be which
we will still be able to benefit from your insights in 2019. I know they are in discussions with IPI and will look forward

- Key Information: Nasra Hassan is saying goodbye to BMGF on the polio front because their current grant ended at the end of 2018. BMGF cannot fund services outside an active agreement. Nasra continued research/reporting beyond the contract period until after Chris's trip to Pakistan.
Dear Chris this is to say say goodbye to BMGF on the polio front! Although I understand that negotiations are underway for 2019 and we might just possibly continue our work together, IPI has been informed that BMGF cannot fund any services outside the frame of an active agreement. The IPI current grant ended at the end of 2018, so I must bid farewell -- as a token of my esteem for you & your team, I continued my research/reporting to you beyond the contract period, until after your recently-concluded trip to Pakistan & up to today --- maybe see you in Europe during one of your mountain treks?
Jay, Tim, Apoorva, I hope you'll see zero cases/ES samples in 2019, though I doubt it for known reasons: the cross-border transmission will continue because of of gaps & weaknesses in Pak PEP; issues between Pak/US; & between Kabul & Islamabad including over the Indian presence; the Afghan Taliban see no reason to make concessions & still refuse to talk officially with Afghan Govt; delay in Afgh Prez elections etc..
Apoorva, I will still respond to you separately with details on the sub-tribes in ES core locations as well as a response to your 8 Jan query on the blue cluster & specific cross-border movement in Oct/Nov 2018.
Donte, if there's a really really major security threat emerging in Pak/Afgh, I'll let you know so that you can keep BMGF staff safe!
Best wishes,
Nasra
