I'm working on a Robert wood Johnson grant proposal (invited) along with a brilliant tech/artist/pre-med person and a well known trauma psychiatrist.
Topic - what I've been working on... Essential self skills, practices, and technologies.
Skills = autonomic resilience, embodiment, emotional self-regulation. Sustained curiosity? Not sure how to get the last one in, but it's important.
(These are required for successful 21c life and a foundation for everything else)
Practices range from contemplative practices to ballroom dancing, singing, etc
Technologies -from neurofeedback (learning about and experiencing these devices), and some things we're cooking up that work with rhythms of body and are direct to senses/body.
Joi never came up with anything at the media lab for me/us... It looks like Brown will. We are working with a neuroscientist based in the med school there. She's a far out thinker and looking at ways to really study energy. I think you'd find her work fascinating.
We'd love to set up a lab at brown.... Or, I'm also spending time in NC. I prefer winter in Durham (near Duke) to the insane Boston winters.
So - cranking on the grant at the moment. And then LA, Dean Kamen for the first kick-off, and a chunk of time in Durham to write and chill (still working on health) before heading up to brown to give a talk in February.
AOBiome is doing very well.
I just found another little company that's taking angel $. Education. But could be good. Not the multiples that I think aobiome or the Bitcoin investments will have, but the entrepreneur is great and has great business support and the idea is terrific. Let me know if you want more info.
