Hi Jeffrey:) How are you? Jeffrey, I don't know how to ask you about this... but I just don't know what to do... Today in the morning my roommate was going to her job by bicycle, and got into the accident... her ankle and her leg are broken... she is in Bellevue hospital, where I spent whole my day, close to her. The problem is - she doesn't have an insurance here (because she is German - and came here to work as a model). The doctor said that for sure she needs an operation. But when they found out that she doesn't have an insurance - they said that she has to wait for surgery until Tuesday and they put her on a waiting list.. but she is dying of pain... she can't stop crying... they put her leg in cast and keep injecting a huge amount of morphine... but it just doesn't help... she still suffering s000 much... They said they might send her back home until Tuesday and just let her back for a surgery... but it's just doesn't sound right to me... like I won't be able to care about her properly until Tuesday - I don't have any medicines, any morphine, anything to keep her calm... Jeffrey, I don't know what to do... Obviously she doesn't have anybody here - her family is in Germany, her boyfriend is in Tokyo right now (he is also model) and she doesn't

You know me - I wouldn't ask for myself, but I just can't see someone suffering that much..

I'm sorry again that I shared with you my problem, I know you are super busy, I know you are away and I know there is a hundreds people asking you about help everyday... but it's just nightmare!!!

I'm going to precinct soon - to talk to the police officer and I'll be in hospital at I I am (cause all visitors can come only from 11am) So keep me updated:) And thaaaank you again!!! I really appreciate it!!! xx

I spoke to head of orthopedics. If I were her I would go home to Germany , the operation costs around 50k . in ny. she will not be able to walk normally for months. not weeks. she will need re habilatition afterwards. another large expense of time, when she will not be able to work or walk well. if at all. she should be happy she is alive, and go home. sorry, IF she decides to stay, we can get her preferred treatment, but it is not smart. If you want to fly with her to GErmany so you can help on the plane I will pay your tickets.

it would be helpful to find out exactly what type of surgerty, only ortho/ or were more things damaged. ? what is her visa status ? is she legal?

Ok I asked her again about operation..and this what I've got: They will have to do 2 operations: First one: They will put things from outside into her bones Like 3 strings, building a triangle Cause her ankle is still not in the right position" Second operation should be in 3 weeks: putting metal plates and screws in the peroneus to keep it straight.

OMG... I don't know what to do.. I feel so useless right now... seriously it's not me who making decisions, but if you and that head of orthopedics think that for her would be better to fly to Germany.. than I guess that is best scenario.

But how she can be transfer? - I don't think that any airlines would let her fly with broken bones... you know what I mean? because she probably needs a medical care.

I can flight with her, but it won't make her suffer less during a flight, unless she has some morphine injection. And also did that head of orthopedics spoke with doctors in a Bellevue hospital? or he just guessing the situation?
