He felt that there is no liaison between someone in his position and the boss. He believes he had come to Karen and Brice many times pleading his case for more money or school tuition. He believes they could have made an argument for helping him but they were unwilling to help. They basically only extend help to Arran. And this was a big frustration for him. He felt persons getting the compensation and the benefits were not the ones carrying the workload on the Island. An example would be him picking up the Boss on a Sunday without an airport access pass when Arran should be quite capable of this and had an airport access pass. He feels that the his requests for help with tuition were not taken to the Boss. And when he told Karen and Brice he was going to go directly to the Boss then they would not let him speak with him or made excuses to stop him. In February he was very upset about his monetary issues with tuition and had come to Karen and Brice. If they had dealt with it with JEE then he might have been able to make ends meet and stay in S11'.
He wants to step into the next phase of his life without any negative energy. So he really does not want any confrontational experience with LSJ. Aside from the financial constraints, he enjoyed working on the Island. It is important for him to keep low-key, as this is his personality and he believes he did a good job of getting along with everyone in a politically charged environment. He believes Brice and Karen would give him a positive recommendation. He had asked for a recommendation letter which Brice said he was not allowed to do for legal reasons. And Karen told him she would give him one. I told him he should give my name and the FTC office number to anyone seeking a job reference.
When I asked about working conditions and management style on the Island. His feelings on this were:
• Not a team player atmosphere
• disorganization and lack of communication often makes thing a-lot harder than they should be
• No direction.
• Anyone that has a problem with Arran is let go. Gary Moses being one example. Brice stands up for Arran no matter what.
