HISTORY
On April 28. 2011, amfAR presented the Inspiration Gala in Sao Paulo, Brazil. the Foundation's first fundraising event held in South America. Claire Danes served as a chair of the gala, and she presented the Piaget Award of Inspiration to Calvin Klein Collection's Francisco Costa in recognition of his extraordinary commitment to the fight against AIDS. The event was held at the home of Felipe Diniz and featured performances by Jennifer Hudson and Preta Gil. $750,000 was raised for AIDS research.
