Local lawyer retained for possible suit against Casey Anthony

Attorney Spencer Kuvin said Friday he has been retained by a California producer to explore the possibility of suing Casey Anthony and her attorney Jose Baez for filching on $1 million tell-all interview.

Al Taylor, of Private Elevator Productions, claims he sealed the deal with Anthony and Baez shortly after the 25-year-old was released from an Orlando jail on July 17 following her acquittal on charges of murdering her 2-year-old daughter, Kuvin said.

Taylor claims a third party, who Taylor thought was working with him, stole the interview. Kuvin declined the name the third party.

Kuvin, president of the Palm Beach County Justice Association of trial lawyers, said he will explore filing a breach of contract lawsuit against Anthony and Baez and a tortious interference claim against the unidentified person.

"His primary motivation is to bring the parties back to the negotiating table," he said. "He wants to do the interview." Taylor has stirred up a firestorm since he announced he had struck the deal last week. Facebook groups vowed to boycott the interview. Recent reports on TMZ and others claim Anthony's representatives are trying to get $1.5 million for an interview with the so-called "Tot Mom" who is among the most detested people in America.

While Baez wasn't immediately available for comment, he has told other news outlets that no deal was made with Taylor.

Kuvin said he became acquainted with Taylor when he represented three of more than two dozen women who sued Jeffrey Epstein, claiming the Palm Beach billionaire paid them to perform sex acts at his mansion when they were as young as 14.

Epstein, who served a brief jail term in 2009 on prostitution-related charges, settled the lawsuits for undisclosed amounts.

Taylor wanted to interview his clients, Kuvin said. All three declined.
