Thank you for reaching out. I read The Physics ofStar Da when it came out and have never forgotten, among other things, your unfortunately depressing analysis that so much data would be involved in transporter technology that it would never be possible. (Ifmemory serves, you talked about how many books it would take to contain the data and analyzed it in terms of trips to the moon and back.) I am very sorry to hear about what you've been going through but would be happy to speak with you about how we might be able to help; I actually have a case going at ASU right now, and I represent, at another school, another professor who has been similarly pilloried in an unfortunately high-profile manner. I will be tied up on calls tonight but am generally available tomorrow, so please let me know what would work for you.
Thanks, and have a good night.

Hello. I am a Professor at Arizona State University, and also director of its Origins Project. In addition, I am relatively well known to the public. I write NYT bestselling books, appear on television and films, write for the NYT and New Yorker etc.. I am also one of the more well known atheist and skeptic speakers around the world. That celebrity status has made me a target of numerous online defamation campaigns in the past. On

You choose to live in Oregon instead of Arizona? You're even smarter than I thought. Would you be able to talk later tonight, say at 6:45 your time? I've had a few things come up today that I need to deal with during daylight hours. If that works, I will call you on your cell then.
Thanks,
Justin

Ditto! It would've been nice if I could've met you at a book signing 23 years ago, rather than under these circumstances, but so be it. We will get engagement agreement out to you first thing tomorrow morning.

HI. great talking today. Whatever happens, I really like you. :)
anyway, address is
I should add that I have a condo in Phoenix and for the moment that is my tax residence since that is where my ASU income is. I am also incorporated with a company which uses that address as well. Primordial Productions MC It doesn't
really matter of course as some company mail comes here as well.. I may pay you out of that company if it goes ahead, but you can advise on
that as well..
Thanks again for the great conversation, and the generous time you devoted to it. Made me feel much better.

probably for the best.. you might have become a physicist then, and your net income would be much lower. :)

You are getting terrible advice from smart people who have never done this work and have no idea what they're talking about. I understand where they're coming from, but it is just bad advice, MI stop. I could give you dozens of examples where the only reason my clients got off-•and we get a lot off—was because we fought hard to make the process fair. Moreover, no one will take seriously the constitutional law arguments of a physicist, no matter how famous he is. You need a lawyer to make those.
I don't mean to be rude, but I have to be somewhat jealous with my time so I can focus on the cases in which people have decided to hire me. We spent a lot of time on the phone yesterday, which I was very happy to do, and I am willing to do a short call with Jeffrey, but I can't keep emailing about this. I have a limited amount of time, and I have to make sure that I am spending it as much as possible on my current clients. I assure you that if you hire me and someone else wants to keep talking about their case while they're deciding, I will tell them the same thing—that they have enough information to make a decision and just need to decide.
Tell Jeffrey we may have to play phone tag, since my weekend schedule is a little up in the air. So he will need to leave me his number. I think 11 a.m. Eastern should work as a start if it works for him.

what number should he call you on? And a good time? ENV when he calls, it says no caller ID on the phone.. (or I could give you his office number) I received similar advice this morning from a former triallawyer who was also on the board at the Bulletin of the Atomic Scientists with me.. He was the one who yesterday urged me to seek legal advice. but today he called to say I should get advice and assistance. but from his experience beingi-ig a lawyer to represent me to these offices is a kffier. that indicating that I am not gUlty and am wiling to work with the offices (with advice and assistance from a good lawyer in the background) is better.

So, I wanted to know your thoughts about this. I assume we could still do a retainer etc and have you assist in every way, including investigation etc..
Thoughts? Sorry to take so much of your time, but this is obviously important to me and I want to handle it very carefully.
And once again, I am happy to pay for your time responding to this email if you want, and talking to Jeffrey, if you want.

have thought about this.. I don't want you to have to take more of your time talking to him.. Sony to have asked.. It wasn't really fair. You have spent enough time on this. I am going to assess this all and make a decision in the coming days. I do appreciate all your advice thus far, and I am prepared to move forward at this moment, but want to think about it carefully before committing.
