Re:
Dear Lila,
I would like to introduce you to my dear friend Jeffrey. He is a very good friend of Lisa and Larry Summers. He previously brought Brian Boyd to Harvard and has a large group of scientists, and academics at his home. I truly think you would enjoy each others company.
Love,
Dear and Jeffrey: how sweet this note!
Hello Jeffrey,
very happy to meet you, whoever you may be. I somehow

schedule skype? ( alliteration intentional ). jeevacation . or when are you next in new york . ?
Hi Jeffrey, I am in Rome and soon in Ferrara.
I'll be back home in NY on Oct 30th.
Do you live in NY?
why are you awake?
i watched the debate.
(and i know boyd of course. i saw him a few months ago.)
Im not sure why people think watching in real time is different than watching the tape after you wake up. ?
it's wonderful watching in real time, just as it might be watching a final at Wimbledon. it was an important debate, and it's always interesting to feel the pulse of the world, comme il va.

lovely text, thank you.
i spent many years with nabokov and i adore looking at the world through his eyes.
but as many artists, he also lied and transfigured. and he loved watching many things 'in real time',
especially boxing, and tennis.
besides, i don't agree with all of him. his poetry for instance, is rather dreadful.
what is it in him you like?
his real time meant live. not television. lied and transfigured, of course but those terms assume a truth. ( questionable ). his synesthesia. I suffer a litte with regard hearing numbers
