however it ignores the fact that though only .3 % of the population , jews are 30 % of nobel prizes.... it is not israel, it is jews... yes britain has a history of science it is just that history„ encouraging patents and sharing intellectual property is a great idea. free zones, I think tax free thinktank zones would be a bold idea. give sceintists no taxes . for 10 years .. if they operate as part of a park benchely etc

Attached a note sent to GB today about an excellent new book on how Israel created its economy around high tech and science «business note 21.1.10.doc>> . Lots of differences between the two countries of course but some good lessons for the UK on innovation and incentives for investment around technology and the universities.

This came up in the meeting today with David Sainsbury and Paul Drayson.

The book - Start Up Nation by Dan Senor is available in the UK and worth skimming.
