Do Muslims Recognize the Temple Mount as Sacrosanct to both Muslims and Jews?

Denying the Jewish connection to Jerusalem typically takes three forms: It is said that Jews were present in the city for a short period and therefore they have no claim to sovereignty over the city; that the Temple of Solomon was actually an ancient Muslim building or did not exist at all; and that the Western Wall is sacred to Muslims and did not become a place of veneration for Jews until the nineteenth century. These are recent Palestinian propaganda points designed to erase the Jewish connection to the city, but the Supreme Muslim Council published a guide to the Temple Mount in 1924 that acknowledged it was the site of Solomon's Temple.

For now, Jerusalem remains a rallying point for Palestinians and other Muslims. The "al-Aqsa is in danger libel," as Nadav Shragai calls it,551 dates back at least to the 1920s, when the mufti ofJerusalem used the lie to incite the masses. Even more secular Palestinians use Islamic imagery to rally the masses. For example, Fatah's terror organization is called the Al-Aqsa Brigades and thesecond intifada, which was planned by the PLO, is referred to as the "Al-Aqsa Intifada."

Even Democrats Believe the Iran Deal is Flawed

Israel's Embassy to Egypt Reopens:

The Israeli embassy in Egypt was re-opened on September 9, 2015, after a closure due to security concerns during the Egyptian revolution that began in January 2011. On September 9, 2011, angry and violent protestors descended upon the Israeli embassy in Egypt, forcing the Diplomats and other officials inside to evacuate immediately. The embassy remained vacant for four years. Director-General of Israel's Foreign Ministry, Dore Gold, stated at the re-opening ceremony on September 9, 2015, that, "Egypt will always be the biggest and most important state in the region. This event taking place in Cairo is also the beginning of something new."
