I apologize, I'm just seeing the time selected. Please let me know if you are still on the call.
hugo , as wapa is fairly unreliabel . i think the safest think woudl be to run a cable from lsj to gsh so that my generators can back up both. ? thoughts.
I apologize for the delayed response. I received this email as I was about to enter the winners circle for the Carnival races and until Amy's call today to discuss this route it completely slipped me.
I would like a little clarity on the plan. When you say the generator will be the backup am Ito understand that each island has their own backup generator?
no i want my large genertors on lsj to be able to power both isalnds in the case of wapa failure . which as you know happens more often than i would like
My thoughts The Generators on LSJ are 2 x 500KW Caterpillar units At present the existing load with everything running on LSJ, including RO is around 33% for just One Genset They should be able to handle present load demands easily for Both LSJ and GS)
The following issues will need to be addressed Who's or how is the on/off operation of the Gensets going to be controlled NOISE are you going to OK with Gensets on LSJ running during the day/night for Water Making etc
Can you not continue WAPA power from LSJ to GSJ, instead of the present direction of laying a completely new power supply from STT? Permitting issues will need to reviewed at same time, an Electrical engineer should be engaged to do a Feasibility study.
Short term solution for GSJ Purchase a larger Genset and RO (10K to 15K GPD), that will cover future build out, or can be expanded upon Make water etc when you are not there when you visit GSJ, this operation is shut down and solar maintains ACs etc for your comfort you leave they switch it back if needed There will be permitting issues with any direction taken.
Im working on new RO proposal from TSG, will forward options once received. This will determine load requirements for new Genset,
regards Brice
