What about a statement along the following lines: I was completely misquoted in the Daily Telegraph and other media outlets. Jeffrey commited what was a crime in the State of Florida. While certainly not condoning his actions for which he has served his time, the fact that he would not have been guilty of a criminal offence in the UK should serve to keep his record, and the totally distorted press headlines, in context.
