Mr Epstein here is the electrical work proposal and small switching system for the picture light installation.lwill schedule the removal of the silk screens with a art hanging company and get a proposal for a new frame to mount the silk screens over the picture light installation after the electrical proposals are approved. Richard B.
Mr.Epstein attached is the proposals for the picture light installation I sent on 6/10 From Matthew Tirshwell the picture light fixture is at 71st street and the electrician would like to start the work next week .Ostroff electric said the have about 5 Days of work Please advise If you would like to proceed with Ostroff or find a different electrician to price the work. Thanks Richard B.
why are the lights not on the same circuit as the overheads it needs to be on the same
Mr Epstein I showed the electrician the over head circuit ,In order to wire the transformers for the light fixture from the over head the electrician said he would have to break into the decorative wall on the stair case side .He felt to hide the electrical installation it was better to do it from the opposite side wall of the silk screen in the security room & gift closet oval office and punch only one hole on the stair side behind the silk screen, rather than channel the fake stone decorative wall on the stair case side .
so what switch is he talking about
Mr. Epstein the switch Matthew Tirshwell is providing is a radio ra repeater and dimmer so we can control the both picture light fixtures from one switch with a dimmer from the Security office .
they cannnot be on a sperate switch, that needs to be turned on from your office. it makes no sense.
Mr. Epstein the existing switch that has been turning on the four spot lights for the silk screens have always been on a separate switch in the oval office behind the entrance door inside a trap door in the wall. The cove lights for the entrance ceiling are on the stair case light switch and is controlled by the lutron system from the pantry closet. The separate switch was installed that way years ago because to get the power needed to light the fixtures from the existing entrance wall switch back to lutron would require additional lines to be pulled back to lutron system in the the kitchen pantry opening holes in finished ceilings from the entrance hall to the pantry . I will call in Matthew Tirshwell and Ostroff electric in to see if he can provide a better solution than what has proposed.Richard
