Re: Planned walk out of Krauss lecture at TAM

Sony, I hadn't bothered to share at the time when I first heard.. .. there are a group of female "skeptics" and others on various websites who were so upset about my defense of you that they not only announced that they were either giving back my books or not buying them, but they plan to walk out of a talk I am giving in Las Vegas at "The Amazing Meeting", some big skeptics meeting put on by Penn and Teller and others.. I have decoupled from worrying about it, and figured it would die down once they found something else to be upset about, Charlie Sheen mouthing off or whatever.. and also as people came to their senses and voiced their dismay about the nonsense (which is happening to some extent I have heard).... I will still give the lecture in July, and I don't expect much of anything to happen.

I am writing to you as your e-mail address appears on Dr. Krauss's webpage.

I am a victim of childhood sexual abuse starting at the age of 13 and continuing until I left home at the age of 17. I assume that you have just read this last statement and are thinking, "Oh, great! More hate mail!" However, this is not the case.

I would like to say that I am unhappy about the planned walk out of Dr. Krauss's talk at TAM and the overall reaction of the skeptical community about Dr. Krauss's statement about Mr. Epstein, both of which I see as a symptom of a growing problem in the skeptic community.

I have jokingly suggested to my husband that I should go to Southpoint and hold up a sign showing my support for Dr. Krauss. My initial suggestion for the sign was 'Child Molestation Victims for Krauss'. I'm

certain that would grab people's attention. I decided that 'Don't Grouse About Krauss' has a better ring.

Of course, nobody is interested in listening to the opinion of a poorly educated, lowly housewife with quite severe dyslexia like me, when they can be listening to Rebecca Watson. Still, I thought, perhaps, I should provide Dr. Krauss with the opportunity to listen to my perspective if he would like. Because of my dyslexia, writing is difficult for me, (I have been working on this e-mail for over an hour) so oral communication would be better.

If Dr. Krauss would like to hear my perspective, he can contact me at ( I live in California, and I do not have a job, so he can feel free to contact me at his convenience during daylight hours my time. (Although, I sit up nights reading rubbish being published by the skeptic community so after 1 lam would be most convenient.)
