Yippie!!

I see these protests as a potential new yippie movement that really changed the world. . if the women and minorities rally around a yippie style of bonding . we are in for a wild ride. i find it amazing that all these older conservatve women are in wash wearing pussy hats. -pink as well . you know more than I . what were the conditions that enabled the movement to grow , a leader? a slogan. ? would love your thoughts

You are confused re: The "new yippie movement". If there is one, it's Steve Bannon, a goy Abbie Hoffman. Re:: Yippie ethos - it came out two major influences: 1. the cybernetic idea (including feedback), which, as Gregory Bateson said, is "the most important idea in 2000 years, since the idea of 'Jesus Christ'." It's also dark and stark and most people can't understand or handle it. (see ebook version of my book "By The Late John Brockman" attached below). And it's deeply connected to ideas from the art world. That was my contribution to the "cause". The first piece below is actually all about my influence - introducing Abbie and Andy - putting together the "Exploding Plastic Inevitable" at the Dom on St. Marks Place, and, most importantly, busting Abbie for pausing for a commercial break on the Dick Cavett show. The next tie he went on, when the host asked for a pause, he ripped off his shirt and underneath, there he was wearing an American Flag undershirt. p.s. Did you see that Gelernter is up for Science Advisor. He's my guy and he's the real deal. A very serious and deep thinker.
