Bizarre, I just emailed a client telling him we're not going to use a revised version of his new book proposal at the Frankfurt Book Fair. I wrote: "I invoke'Epstein's First Law': Know when you are winning."
And I was planning on calling because I came across a young scientist you want to know.
All the news here is good. Clean bill of health from my cardiologist. All systems exactly normal. No damage to heart. And most importantly for quality of life issues: no drugs to slow me down. I feel great. And this, a year from being wheeled into the ICU of the "Heart Failure Lab" as Weill-Comell. The lesson: it helps to have the best doctors.

Finally, Katinka is receiving unexpected and surprising international recognition.
Phaidon just published "Plant: Exploring the Botanical World" )//2arZcTe) a "curated selection of 300 of the most beautiful and and pioneering botanical images ever", which includes botanical works by Carl Linnaeus, Leonardo da Vinci, Pierre-Joseph Redoute, Charles Darwin, Emily Dickinson, Vincent van Gogh, Georgia O'Keeffe, Ellsworth Kelly, Robert Mapplethorpe . . . and Katinka Matson. Her "Spiders" image in the book is becoming the news lede for the collection. She has the headline in the biggest news website in Greece lifo.gr/articles/photography_articles/117172 (as long as you use a desktop browser, that is) and she's also in The Guardian bit.ly/2e2iocS.
