Fw: CHICKEN the most important cultural film of the century
Hi Stuart,
Just left a message for Jeffrey with a cultured woman whose name I did not ask. I am attempting to schedule a meeting with him for this coming Wed. or Thur. Please keep your fingers crossed.
Here is the synopsis of the film:
CHICKEN
out of the jungle into the frying pan
Feature Length Documentary
A celebration of the domestic fowl, its role in civilization and the significance of stewardship practiced by women throughout the history of agriculture
Written by Kermit Blackwood
Directed by Nick DePencier
This film's importance- it hybridizes academic and cultural disciplines (ecology, history, evolutionary biology and philosophy) in one colourful and compelling feature-length documentary film- The story is accessible to all regardless of reading comprehension level and reintroduces the worlds most important livestock species - one that every culture is familiar with- expanding parameters- and calling on humanity to conserve the forests of South East Asia- helping to save the wild ancestors of the domestic fowl from extinction.
We need 2.5 Million dollars to make this film. Here is a link to our director/producer http://www.mercuryfilms.ca/
I'll be in NYC from Wed. through Friday of this coming week. all the best
