FW: Alexander Acosta and Jeffrey Epstein plea deal - NY Daily News
Hello,
My name is Christopher and I am a reporter at the NY Daily News. I am writing a story about proposed Labor Secretary Alexander Acosta, including his time in the Southern District of Florida.
I had seen that he was previously criticized for a "sweetheart deal" allowing Jeffrey Epstein to plead guilty to state prostitution charges in exchange for no federal charges being pursued.
Correspondence between Acosta and Epstein's attorneys was also seen in a suit against the government by two victims who say their rights under the Crime Victims Rights Act http://abcnews.go.com/US/victims-feds-hid-sweetheart-deal-sex-offender-deep/story?id=36843144
I was wondering if you have any comment on Acosta's tenure in your office, the characterization of the Epstein plea as a "sweetheart deal" and allegations that Acosta and Marie Villlafana were involved in a "conspiracy between the Government and Epstein's attorneys to conceal the existence of a broad, non-prosecution agreement."
Feel free to call me at or on my cell at
Sincerely,
Christopher [Redacted]

I imagine we will receive many inquiries like this. We of course will not comment on any of it but I wanted you to know.
