Continued Reporting: Jeffrey Epstein Battle Set to Reignite in Congress

The Hill (O8/14, Brooks, Lillis) reported that the battle over Jeffrey Epstein in Congress is expected to reignite when lawmakers return to Washington in September, with a bipartisan pair of lawmakers, Rep. Thomas Massie (R-KY) and Rep. Ro Khanna (D-CA), planning to force a vote on releasing federal files related to Epstein. The House Rules Committee and the House Oversight and Government Committee are likely to revisit the issue, which could create new headaches for Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) and his leadership team. Court cases surrounding the fate of Epstein's files could reach a resolution in the coming weeks, and lawmakers may call former government officials, including former President Bill Clinton and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, to testify about the Epstein investigation.
