RE: Nygard
I spoke with SDNY. No issues with the team. The question was asked about the progress of the electronic downloads from all the electronic media obtained from the searches. Evidently, there is a backlog and much of the downloads have not been completed. The idea was that given the FBI's and SDNY's office work reduction, this could be a good time for the case team to be doing taint review and other electronic search reviews. I agree. I know other squads are using this time to review search warrant returns, TIII data, etc.
I don't know if is assigned to this case as well. But, can you find out the status of CART and their ability to process the search warrants for this?
Thanks,

Thanks ,
The squad has definitely been taking advantage of this time to review digital evidence, warrant returns, subpoena returns, prison calls, etc. However, this issue is a CART backlog problem. is assigned to this matter, as well as the Epstein and Ray cases, both high priority matters with a mountain of forensic evidence to process. CART is only in the office 1 or 2 days a week so I’m not surprised that there is a delay. I will reach out to and get a status and see what solutions may exist.
Thanks,
Thanks [REDACTED]. Let me know if there are any other options for us.

Circling back on this. Is [REDACTED], or anyone else in CART, able to speed up the download process so that the case team/USAO can do the taint review?
advised he is running the devices this week and should have items to begin reviewing by early next week. He's only coming in one day a week and running stuff from home. provided SDNY with all of the social media returns and one victim phone that was taint reviewed, so they have things to review. We have a taint agent reviewing Nygard’s phone. has been communicating with SDNY and they are aware of the progress and know our limitations at this time.
Ok thanks.
Anything new with Epstein?
Nothing new on Epstein, looks like SONY will approve pros memo on Maxwell. We'll know more when Grand Juries start up again.
