FBI-MM is shipping their Epstein files to you. When you receive them, please touch base with me to discuss how we will proceed with respect to SDNY reviewing the file. We are not going to turn the entirety of the file over to SDNY pursuant to their request so they can make a copy. That is just not how it works.

Thanks for your assistance with this request. As we discussed, SDNY has an open investigation into Jeffrey Epstein. We are working on this investigation in partnership with FBI New York. The case agents— and are copied here, along with my colleague, AUS

We would like to request that FBI Florida ship the case files to SDNY—specifically, to the U.S. Attorney's Office—so that we may have a vendor copy the files and associated media. We would return the files to Florida as soon as the vendor completes the copying process.

We are requesting the files so that we can be sure to have a complete copy of all case records. This is necessary as part of our investigation, but in addition we will need to make sure we have a copy of all FBI materials so that we can be confident we can comply with our discovery applications, should this investigation result in criminal charges.

As to the scope of materials we are requesting, our understanding is that there are a number of boxes containing the official case files for both the investigation of Epstein and the related investigation of . In addition to the official case files, we also understand that there are several boxes of agent work-product, and we would like those boxes to be shipped as well.
