As discussed, our proceedings against Mr Staley relate to the action we decided to take set out in our decision notice, which is available here: Decision Notice 1011- James Fdward Staley
In brief. our action concerns a letter which Mr Staley approved which said that (1) he did not have a close relationship with Mr Epstein and that (2) he was last in contact with Mr Epstein well before he joined Barclays. Our case is that both those statements were untrue and that Mr Staley acted with a reckless lack of integrity in approving the letter because he appreciated the risk that the letter would be misleading.
If you have evidence that is relevant to our case — that is, relevant to the questions whether the two statements were we, and whether Mr Staley was reckless in approving the letter — then we would be grateful if you could provide it as soon as possible.
