RE: question about Tartaglione and Epstein; video from MCC

Hi. I was in court this afternoon on Tartaglione and peripherally his lawyer raised the fact that it doesn't appear that any video was preserved of the cell from Epstein's earlier attempted suicide.

I'd like to have clarified response. He told the judge: "It's our understanding...that the video no longer exists, it was not preserved."

Does that mean there was video but there is no longer?

Have all avenues at restoring/preserving video from outside that cell been exhausted?

No. Since he was there, he knows that after we provided that initial response to defense, they told us it was their understanding that it was preserved. The judge asked us to look into it which we said we were in the processing of doing.

Just FYI. The daily news has an article on the tapes and claims a USAO spokesman confirmed the tapes were missing. I confronted who said he talked to press (against my direction) but didn’t go as far as article says (not sure I believe him). He claims he’s calling Daily News to get correction.
