Re: Access to the audio phone line for the bail hearing for G. Maxwell on Tuesday

Thank you for the notifications concerning the arraignment and bail hearing for G. Maxwell scheduled for Tuesday, 7/14/20. I am concerned that many of my clients, who are Epstein victims and who have spoken to the FBI and prosecutors, may not be able to get through on the phone line provided to the public and the press to hear the live audio feed of the proceedings on Tuesday because of the number of people who may be seeking to call. The court order states that "The court will provide counsel for both sides an additional dial-in number to be used to ensure audio access to the proceeding for non-speaking co-counsel, alleged victims, and any family members of the defendant."
Although none of the victims whom I represent have had charges filed for them in reference to Ms. Maxwell, would they and would I be able to have access to the additional dial-in number to be sure that we can hear the proceeding? Would you or the prosecutors be willing to notify the court to ask this question on Monday? Some of my clients did come into contact with and were victims of Ms. Maxwell, although not during the time period alleged in the indictment.
I would appreciate your response on Monday so that Imay notify my clients and let them know if there is an additional number that they can call in the event that they can't get through on the phone line which is for the press and the public. It would be very sad and disappointing if Epstein victims were not able to listen to this proceeding because of the number of individuals from the public and press who may flood the phone lines.

Unfortunately, pursuant to the Court's order, access to a separate phone line will be limited to the parties and victims who are covered by the indictment. That separate phone line will have a limited capacity of callers and cannot be further extended. We, of course, understand that you and your clients have an interest in observing the hearing, and if you and/or any of your clients are able to attend the live video feed of the hearing, we will work with courthouse staff to ensure that you have priority of seating in a socially distant manner. To that end, please let me know if you or any of your clients intend to view the live video feed in person, so that we can make arrangements for your seating.

At this time I am not aware that any of my clients intend to be there in person, Because of Covid-19, I also do not plan to fly there from California, but I do appreciate your kind offer re the video. By the way, since I last saw you ,I have been retained by additional victims of Jeffrey Epstein, and some allege victimization by Ms. Maxwell as well. At this time, however,none are willing to speak to you or your investigators about their experience, I will of course, let you know if that changes. Finally, do you know what time callers may begin to call the public number on Tuesday? The court order does not provide that information. It just gives the time of the hearing and states first come, first served. I would at least like to be able to let my clients know what time they can start calling ,even if they have to wait on the line until the 1P.M. e.s.t. hearing begins.

I think I can just email the clerk, since he asked me. We'd need to make sure she is ok with us giving her name to the court so that they know to expect her, and that she's comfortable with designated seating for victims. I'm not sure how confidential that process will be and she'll be in a courtroom with reporters, so wanted to flag.

My client, Epstein victim, Erika Braukis, has decided to fly in for the video hearing tomorrow. Would you please let her know who she can contact when she arrives to assist her entry into the jury assembly room to see the video of the hearing? She is also bringing a support person. May that person enter with her as well?
