I asked Larry to drop in on Midnight Express and look at the
work being done.
His thoughts are listed below.
I spoke with Harris of Midnight Express and he feels the Air
Conditioner will be sufficient and the additional weight will not be that big
of a factor.
I guess we will see what happens when we do the sea trial and I would
recommend Carlos fly to Florida to do that.

Emad,
Here are the photos I took today of Midnight Express,
I would recommend a new paint job for boat AFTER a
"satisfactory" sea trial in Florida, the weight increase of the
tempered glass is tremendous.
I am very concerned that the additional weight of 1000 pounds for
Glass and 600 pounds for hard top will make this boat very top heavy and handle
poor, with such a High C.G.
(Center of Gravity).
I think a lot of attention should be placed on the sea trial
before sending the boat to LSJ... especially sea trial in 4 to 6 foot chop
seas...According to Ron and Eric at Midnight Express this glass enclosure will
be VERY HOT, due to a small air conditioner being installed, and no free air
circulation to cool passenger compartment.
The limiting factor on Air Conditioner size is the fact of
running it with power from outboard Verado engines,,,,a small generator
installed is most common to run larger air conditioners that can be run at
dockside, while main engines are not running to cool compartment.
reminder: this is a 1985 hull.
