Index lower again at 55: Our business jet
index came in at 55, slightly below our September survey and our third
consecutive lower score. However, while lower, our index does continue to
indicate incremental improvement, albeit at a slower rate, with an index score
greater than 50 representing incremental strengthening bizjet market
conditions.
·
Current conditions strong, no impact from
credit market difficulties . . .: Our respondents continue to cite a very
strong market, with current business conditions just off their high. It appears
credit market woes still not hitting bizjets, as 73% of respondents noted no
adverse impact from broader credit market difficulties.
·
. . . but outlook drops to new all-time low:
However, with the exception of our customer interest component, all the
components we track declined this month. Our 12-month outlook component dropped
to a new all-time low driven by a 16% decline in our domestic participants’
score, although international increased 10%. However, while less optimistic,
over 50% of respondents still think market can hold current high levels over
next 12-months.
·
GD/TXT top business jet plays: GD/TXT
remain our preferred choices for business jet exposure. We also believe BEAV
can benefit significantly from the business jet upcycle.
