jp, WE have to have a serious discussion.. I am very
upset.. I consider you a friend and as you say , you
and I think very much alike,, IT is almost 16 months
since we began,, as of today, I have not one finished
set of buildable plans for even the office. WE are so
far behind, and the progress in minimal at best. THe
past two weeeks for example, since my trip to Paris,
the progress is virtually zero... All th hisotric
building to which you refer, have a one point
perspective attached , that clearly show gardens roads
paths and layout of the house and it's surroundings.
THink of the drawings of guermantes, and the other
chateaus, I have yet to have a drawing that has even
50 feet of surrounding of the buildings. Imagine how
silly guermantes would look if all you saw were it
plopped in the land without fountains alleyways and
surrounding roads. THere is not even a concept drawing
for the roads, main house , and library
connections..I don't mind , making many changes, in
our attempt to get it right. Eight months ago, I asked
you if you thought we , together should hire an
architecural firm with the experience and people to
help us, I also suggest trying to find a landscape
firm to help with the sculpting of the land.. You said
you felt insulted, and promised me your firm was
capable of doing this work. Eight months have passed,
and only yesterday, again, you say the house WILL FIT
, if we cut down the hill to 126, I am willing to do
anything to make it work, but HAve yet to receive a
single drawing that would tell me how this final land
would look. I have asked three months ago , to please
tell me how th librabry transisionto the land, so it
doesn't have the same problem as my current guest
house. looking as if it were droppped from the sky..
I've been given many paper trees on models . THat;s
it. THe photo shopped pictures of interiors is nice,
but at the same time we don't have a single drawing
that lays out even the library project. RE. the
office, it took you and I less than five minutes to
realize on site, that the plan your office , had drawn
was in the wrong location at the wrong height. THis is
impossible. THIs project need your full attention if
it's to get back on track.. TO have the last big
model of the main house, show the obvious folly of
having so many porcjes into the wind, was frustating,
but I could easily live with that if I had something
16 months into the project that we could decipher the
overall plan. YOur office can be working on the
interior of the theatre, as we know we will build it ,
it's just a matter of where.. WE need a realistic one
point perspective. of the top of the hill plan,. IT is
your friendship that I truly value, I have been very
sensitive, to your feelings, , and will continue to do
so.. YOu have to be honest with both of us, and we
should decide together how to move forward.. I want to
work with you.. Your office has clearly not shown the
level of experience and expertise to support you in
your taste and ideas.. THis is not a flat piece of
land. having them say, just cut off the top of the
hill until it is flat, without a plan for the ultimate
layout is silly.. CAll me asap to discuss.

My ideal would be to level the platform at 124;
locate the building and redesign according to the
remaining natural topo the gate, the atelier and the
court. Historically, the great buildings we know
have been positioned in their correct site and the
surrounding buildings and parks have always been
designed as a complement to the main building.
I was thinking last night if we eliminate the
balcony on the NW side of the office building, the
building fit in the platform. I arranged this
elevation and will send it to you on Monday, looks
very nice from the seaside, and will also keep your
privacy.

no.no.no,no,no,no,,,,,,,the building is too far west
The center of the library is important, not how it
sits on a piece of paper.. notice the atelier hangs
off the cliff.. ANd that is at 124,

Jeffrey, according to this topo we can fit the
buildings into the 124 level without to much
earthwork.The main building is 180 by 80.I will send
