Re: S76C++ update
regarding curtains.. can we think about roll up or
down , or clam shell types.. it would be preferable to
be able to not have very dark tint, it should be
polarized no matter what, ... the rear seat, needs to
have a gel pad like thing or special foam.. can they
send us and engineering drawing of the silence
interior. THe arm rest issue is tricky,, what are our
restrictions,, can we make the middle narrow , how
narrow? the window side will have to be thought
through . it only works if IT is lower not the other
higher.

I spoke with Sikorsky engineering yesterday about
the issues we discussed.
Cocoon interior is now called the Silence interior,
same thing.
***Silencer interior as explained to me, is a 5
sided box that is installed
in the interior shell of passenger compartment. The
floor of the passenger
compartment is used as the 6th wall. It is suspended
using a fastener that is
similar to an engine mount so vibration is not
transmitted to the cabin area.
The main structure in the Silencer interior is the
wall that separates the
Cabin from cockpit area.
*** Sikorsky has only installed about 2 curtains in
the Passenger
compartments in the past couple of years, one of
them being the Toy Stores machine.
Curtains are not included on your interior spec at
this time. The most
challenging part of curtain installation is the main
window is not symmetrical, so
having the base of curtain attached to the airframe
does not work very well.
This is why Sikorsky has been using window tint for
privacy.
*** Magazine rack opening in cabin doors will be
removed
*** The arm rest that folds down is same location on
our specs as the Toy
Store machine. Need to address this with you, IF
your VIP seat is aft R/H side
of S76, we can move only that arm rest 2 to 3
inches for a wider seat for
you. and leaving the aft facing bench as is. Just a
thoughts.
*** Airvents and lights can only be installed in
middle section of cabin
ceiling.
because of the Silence interior and improved head
room.
*** Rear forward facing bench seat is mounted to the
fuel tank. Depending on
interior foam thickness, may reduce the vibration
that you felt in rear seat.
*** Arm rest height: The side rail of S76 is more a
widow ledge than an arm
rest according to Sikorsky, that is why your concern
with the height has
been an issue during interior design. If we build up
the fold down armrest to
match the window ledge, it appears to high to be
considered normal or
comfortable. We need to sit in actual machine and
address this issue further.
I will bring the interior photos to dicuss futher on
next trip.
