AS you can see ffrom the date and time,, I have not been able to sleep/. I am very upset.. I have put a great deal of trust in you. I value your friendship and you and I share one eye. THe fact that maguire says I must throw out$ 120,000 of drawings as it was from your first plan,that was about to be built , I accepted the problem// WE have spent three days looking at sublime proportions, extraordinary things of great compostion, texture, and beauty.. I have done as you have asked, and have been patient , . YOu showed me the second week of last december the photo of the office, that we once again saw today. The bookcase presented today from it's gilding to wood ,to it's composition was simply grotesque. There was absolutely nothing about it that was right.. I want to work with you, . PLease find a way that this is possible. THe shop drawings that were approved,, both sets,, the very ugly and the hideous, are remakably different from what I agreed., including the windows. If your office is incapable of doing these drawings let's find someone together that is. I want you to put an immedate hold on francelli going any further, for the main library. I'm sure he can build any drawing given to him, The drawings need a superb design, Your office has produced beautiful photoshopped photos of what things are to look like.. I need to see that they can do more than photoshop. I realize that today was an embarrassment for everyone. PLease think long and hard regarding a solution. I can only critique , I can't really create. . I have an eye , not a hand. I cannot be put into to position of having to review shop drawings.. IT is grossly UNFAIR. I agreed to turn the page, AS a reminder ,, I was promised a master plan, over 9 months ago, when yaki the landscaper fell through. the atelier is nowhere close, but I was always confident on the interiors being beautiful. My confidence has been greatly shaken..
