To: "Darren Indyke" DKIESQ@aol.comDarren,
Per our conversation, I would like to bring to
Jeffrey's attention that
Citigroup's feeder fund to Dr James Simons' fund,
Renaissance, LLC, will
be closing to new investors at the end of this month
as it nears its
limit of 499 investors. Since inception in October
2005, the fund has
outperformed the S&P 500 by approximately 500 basis
points with 60% of
the volatility of the index. Dr. Simons' stated
target for the fund is
to return 600 basis points over that of the S&P 500
on an annual basis
with half the volatility. The minimum investment for the fund is $250,000, and
it has quarterly
liquidity with written notice. I strongly encourage
that we secure one
of the last remaining slots in the fund at the
minimum level and, if
Jeffrey is so inclined, we can discuss increasing
the investment size at
a later date when he has some time to speak with me.
It is not my style
to put a "hard sell" on my clients, but given the
urgency of securing a
spot, combined with Dr. Simons' impressive track
record of producing
returns in prior funds, I feel it would be a mistake
to not make this
investment.I have ordered subscription documents in each
account that Jeffrey has
open with us, and will have them delivered for your
review as soon as
possible. In addition, please find attached a
spreadsheet detailing the
monthly returns for Renaissance vs the S&P. Thank
you.Regards,
Greg
