The boat in Tortola is aluminum. It has a quirky owner who was asking $600K for it before he decided to change out the engines and ask for more. The barges in Florida are both more expensive and require repairs.
As to the Tortola possibility I have waited out enough West Indian pipe dreams to recommend that this one not be listened to. The price will be too high and as soon as we target the boat we end up in a seamless web of negotiations which go no where.
I recommend that we move ahead with the Chateau Thierry. Three pictures are attached. It is in Southampton England. The price, including broker’s commission is $275,000. The offer would be subject to a Bosco visit and if that works out ok, his engagement of a surveyor which would still have to be ok before a commitment would be made. The barge appears to be ready to sail and can be brought back under its own power to the northeast where it could be brought down the inland waterway. If we wanted to make any changes to it, that work could be lined up in the US before it is brought here.
