Obama to Nominate Loretta Lynch as U.S. Attorney General
President Obama will nominate Loretta E. Lynch, the top federal prosecutor in Brooklyn, to succeed Eric H. H Jr. as attorney general, people close to the process said Friday.
If confirmed, she would be the first African-American woman to serve as the nation's top law enforcement off She would also be a rare instance of Mr. Obama's reaching outside his inner circle to fill a crucial post.
