My name is James Weis--I am a first-year PhD student in the Computational and Systems Biology initiative, and am currently conducting a research rotation in Ed Boyden's lab.

My background lies in computer science and synthetic biology. However, I am interested above all in the beneficial, entrepreneurial application of technology--something you have achieved on a consistent basis, from Creative Commons, to Neoteny Co., to Mozilla.

I know you are very busy, and I am not even sure if you normally meet with students. However, I was hoping you would have a few minutes to discuss these objectives and how one could best pursue them--both at MIT, and beyond. As your career is one I especially admire, your time would be very much appreciated.
