Now, this is where it gets interesting. Sotheb='s catalogue illustrates a cartonnier (illustrated below) which th=y described as "later" that came with the desk. Does Mr. Epstein have the c=rtonnier? It's obviously hard to say from this black and white pho=o, but stylistically, the cartonnier could be from the 1760's. If =0, it was likely made at the same time the lion's masks were put on the sides and would make the desk significantly=more valuable.
I actually do not remember this piece at all..zero memory of it..if it=is anywhere it might be St Fe?
