Wifi KA band update

KA Wifi system price is approx $650k, if we need to install the KA tail mounted Radome additional $150k, price estimate $800k total.

Gulfstream and Honeywell are in a dispute over the KA Tail mounted radome on G550. Gulfstream contracted Honeywell to build a KA antenna to fit under the current G550 factory Tail Radome, but it appears the antenna Honeywell manufactured does not fit inside the current radome. Gulfstream was forced to fabricate a slightly larger radome and get it certified to accommodate the KA antenna.

Don Milum, our KA sales person, believes the KA antenna may fit under our radome, since we only have the Swift Broadband system mounted under our radome. The G550 radome has space for a total of 3 different antennas that can be mounted in the G550 tail Radome, such as Satellite TV, Wifi antenna, and SAT/Phone antenna. We are only using 1 space under our radome for Swift Broadband Wifi. Don feels it's worth a try to see if he can fit the antenna under our current radome.

Don would like to send his team to Islip to physically try to mount the antenna under our radome, as a trial. The new KA radome is expected to be certified by Sept 2017, with a price estimate for this radome at $150k.

Plan A: If the KA antenna fits under our current radome, install as planned.

Plan B: If the KA Antenna doesn't fit under our current Radome, we could install the system, except for the Antenna, operate with CB pulled, then install the KA antenna when the new KA band radome delivers in Sept 2017.

Plan C: Wait for KA antenna delivery and install at a later date.

Do you approve of trying to see if the KA antenna fits under our current Radome?
