I lied because I (was putting my own needs before your feelings/didn=E2 t appreciate how much it would hurt you/was arrogant and selfish/w=s cowardly trying to get out of a difficult situation/etc)

I would like to regain your trust, and I promise not to lie to you again.=C2 I understand if you are unwilling to give me a second chance.
