Happy New Year, Paul. How's the writing coming?

I know you always joke, but I'm actually afraid I may end up breaking a legacy.

Film festivals are finally starting to respond to The Last of the Manson Girls. The movie won "Best of Fest" at the South Carolina Underground Film Festival in November. In December, I won a Best Director award from the Tampa Bay Underground Film Festival. It also won Best Supporting Actress (my wife Cindy as Sandy Good) and Best Production Design. This week, I was informed that the film will screen at the Midwest WeirdFest in Eau Claire, Wisconsin in March and at the Brighton Rocks Film Festival in the UK this June.

The movie also got interest from a sales rep who works with a guy named Jeff Dowd. My generation knows him as the inspiration for "The Dude" from The Big Lebowski, but you may remember him as one of the "Seattle Seven," who got arrested and tried after semi-violent Weathermen style protests. Do you know him? He seems like a guy who was likely a fan of The Realist. I'm not sure if I'm going to work with he and his partner, but they're interesting dudes.

I took a teaching job this past fall at my alma mater in West Virginia teaching theater and film. Lots of bluegrass, old deadheads, and brownies to make the head happy. Nice change of pace from Trumpland.

In a separate email, I'll send along the paperwork we talked about over the summer about an agreement for the film. It looks like it actually may be released as an honest to goodness movie at some point, so I want to make sure everything is square from your end.
