Election of the Secretary General of the Council of Europe: Candidatures received
At the expiry of thedeadline

Didier REYNDERS, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Affairs, Minister of Defence of Belgium
- Andrius KUBILIUS, Former Prime Minister, Member of the Seimas (Parliament) of Lithuania
" Dora BAKOYANNIS, Former Minister of Foreign Affairs, Member of Parliament of Greece
- Marija PEJČINOVIĆ BURIĆ, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister for Foreign and European Affairs of Croatia.
The Committee of Ministers will interview the four candidates separately in March 2019, and decide upon a final list of candidates that will be transmitted to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe. The Parliamentary Assembly will then proceed with the election of the next Secretary General, which is due to take place in June 2019. The mandate of the new Secretary General starts on 1 October 2019.

Didier REYNDERS, Vice-Premier Ministre, Ministre des Affaires étrangères et européennes et de la Défense de Belgique
Andrius KUBILIUS, Ancien Premier Ministre, Membre du Parlement (Seimas) de Lituanie
Dora BAKOYANNIS, Ancienne Ministre des Affaires étrangères, Membre du Parlement de Grèce
Marija PEJČINOVIĆ BURIĆ, Vice-Premier Ministre, Ministre des Affaires étrangères et européennes de Croatie.
Le Comité des Ministres organisera des entrevues séparées avec les quatre candidats en mars 2019 et arrêtera la liste définitive de candidats qui sera transmise à l'Assemblée parlementaire du Conseil de l'Europe. L'Assemblée parlementaire procédera ensuite à l'élection du/de la prochain(e) Secrétaire Général(e), prévue en juin 2019. Le mandat du nouveau/de la nouvelle Secrétaire Général(e) débutera le 1er octobre 2019.
