We have been in touch since then and hang out a few times. His dad got sick two months ago and his surgery did not go well (if I understood correctly) and now he basically won't be able to walk. They don't have money for home aid so he stayed in the hospital for a month and now they want to kick him out from there... They are reaching out to many charities (they live in California) and since you have a lot of Jewish friends, I wondered if you knew or were involved with this type of charity organizations?
