Letter of Invitation for Belarus

I am told by Visa Central (Amex's recommended visa company) that the letter of invitation for Belarus is to be a PREPAID hotel confirmation on hotel letterhead. You are currently holding a reservation for Aug. 5-Sept 1 at $550 per night plus taxes and service charges...I am told by Natalie at the Hotel Europe if we prepay and you do not stay the entire time, they will credit your card back. She suggested paying for the first five nights.
The other way to obtain a letter of invitation is for Karyna's parents to personally go to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and get you permission to visit the country.
OK to prepay for your hotel stay from Aug 15-Sept 1? (or specify how many nights)
