drew down $22,000 from retirements funds to cover personal costs

but your gift has been a god-send for my research, including paying off final bills from Jamaica and doing the statistics on the work we did, as well as helping finance an upcoming trip to Germany

as for the research, in an hour or so, i will send you the result of your and Gordon's support, i think you will be well pleased

the University is holding fast, although they promised to consider lifting part of the sentence and get back to me three weeks ago, they have not bothered to do so; my lawyer is preparing a lawsuit in the hopes that this may jar them into action but they are the state and they have a long history of fighting lawsuits to the bitter end and then exhausting all appeals; i have no intention of going down that road but i will threaten them with one and then file, if necessary

i leave Sunday for three weeks work at the Institute for Advanced Studies in Berlin; should be good fun and a welcome relief from Jersey
