l can appreciate that Jeffrey is busy and often hard to reach and natu=ally I respect his time.
It would be greatly a=preciated to arrange a conversation in the next two days as I myself am ab=ut to leave the US for an extended period as part of my work with disaster=relief in Asia, the Mid-East and elsewhere. As an organization, Second Res=onse (the initiative of Fortunate Blessings Foundation which I founded 16 =ears ago) is entering a critical time, a major turning point made that muc= more significant as a result of our trauma team now on the ground in Tacl=ban, Philippines. The word from there is that our work is felt to be extre=ely valuable by UNICEF, World Vision, WHO, Save the Children and many othe= relief agencies. We are hearing this from others as well.

What is pressing now is education-based funding for tra=ning and credible evaluation of our methodologies in the field and staff d=velopment so that we can reach more children. We've retained (and are=hoping to hire in the next two weeks) a highly qualified PsyD, Michelle Wa=g, who has been the prior Program Director at the VA Hospital PTSD Clinic =n San Francisco.
Can you mention all this to Jeffrey and let me know if =e can have that conversation? For the 17 years we've known each other (w= first met at Stephen Jay Gould's apartment and then I consulted at the =YC residence), we have never discussed my relief work. I think he still se=s me as working with people who are dying while in fact I am focused mostl= on disaster relief.
Now is a time I believe his valuable support can truly =ake a huge difference.
