Saw your friend earlier today in Dubai.

He struck me as a good guy. Quirky, but decent. Surrounded by stooges. Good for a sitcom, but not for getting business done on the continent.

After we broke, I headed back to Abu Dhabi for other meetings. I now am headed back, at your friend's request, to see him again before my flight back to New York late tonight.

Sultan genuinely is a decent person and a thoughtful businessman. I am glad to have spent time with him--we toured his island and then his resort. I left at midnight after dinner.

This said, I am not optimistic we will end up working together. My interest is in jointly acquiring 8ollore and then using that platform to fill in major gaps such as Nigeria, but I sense that Sultan undervalues my ability to navigate Africa relative to his history of flying in and meeting heads of state. Africa is not a place you can do via remote control and solely top down.
