Re: trust
Dear Max,
I would like to ask for a distribution from one of the marital trusts, for $500,000, to deal with current expenses of mine.
Thanks for your consideration
Noam
Forgive me for asking Noam, but did you mean $500,000, or $50,000?
Thanks,
Max

Good morning (from Scotland) Noam -<=>
When we were last in touch on this I replied=with a cc to Deborah (who I have copied again here) and I understood=that you, she and Valeria had discussed my need (as trustee) to know something more about the background for this req=est and your anticipated needs going forward. Deborah got back to me=and indicated that the call she and I had tentatively scheduled was being =ancelled.
If you would like me to reschedule a call wi=h Deborah, or a meeting, I'd be glad to do that. I'l= be back on Tuesday.
My best,
I didn't hear from you about this, and would like to know what is happening in this matter. I would like to get on with my life and work without delay. I've worked hard for 70 years, put away a substantial sum of money. I surely have the right to access it. Could you let me know where this stands.
Noam
Why don't you call him=C2*
This is the letter I recei=ed from Max, almost immediately after I sent him the letter below. H=re's what I was thinking of responding.
There seems to be some confusion. I was responding to y=ur letter of Oct. 16, in which you said you would be getting back to me th= next day. That was the last time we were in touch. Since I di=n't hear from you, I wrote again, last night.
I don't see what further explanation =s necessary, or why it is necessary to bring Deborah into this. I co=ld add that as I approach 90, having worked hard for 70 years and put away=a substantial some of money, I not only have the right to some peace and t=anquillity to go on with my life and work, but also to do so without facin= an inquisition.
could also add so=ething about the advice and practices of Max and Sam that led to a situati=n where for the first time in my life, I have to face financial problems.=C24> But maybe not]
Max is s trustee afraid of being=sued by your children . It is the trust money not yours . If two of =hree of your children agree no issue, if not Deborah would have to take s=eps
Max may believe that= but I find it virtually impossible to believe. Max hasn't broug=t up anything of the sort in his letters to me. If he does, or I see=any other indication of it, I'll react at once.
My =eeling is that I should first respond to his letter, basically reiterating=what I said. Do you think I ought to send the letter I sent you, bef=re bringing Deborah into it? I'd like to see if I can work this =ut directly with Max before taking any further steps.
What d= you think?
I almost never use the phone, and don't=really want to get into a discussion with him. I'd prefer to kee= to mail, which will be on the record, no opportunity for misrepresentatio=.
So, do you think that letter is ok?
ok with me , but i would add , if you are not =oing to transfer the money this week , please detail for me the reasons be=ind your decision. thx
