bard festival . success. accomplishes most of your goals. carnegie hall, left over smorgasboard from the festival bar mitzvah --- refocus and make bard the burning man of the music world. burning man does not last all year. generates excitement. anticipation. etc. provide me the economics of the festival.

This is wrong ( and I do not know why I am fighting on the defensive here). The Bard Festival had one subject a year, it is great thing with 12 to 14 concerts and a book. Three are orchestral, and it depends on the ASO. Its economics is that it operates at a loss of 1 million a year. Since it is on a college campus, its ticket prices are lower and the size of the two halls are 350 and 900. It is over two weeks. I am not a burning man. I will provide you the economics: pretty simple. Costs each year 1,700,000 with a loss of between 1 and 1.2 million. The scale and range of programing is truly academic and not wide ranging and not primarily orchestral. But I would hardly discourage you from supporting it. Its existence is connected to the ASO but it is not a replacement.
