i don't recall whether i mentioned that the day before the formal yivo =vent bill and karen ackman are hosting a small (if not actually really =ntimate) dinner at their house with baron de rothschild and some star =ntellectuals: fouad ajami, michael walzer, moshe halbertal. the food =ill be good, the talk better, believe me.

so the ackman event is on december 3. by the way, he is chairman of the =ecember 4 benefit and a serious contributor to yivo.

these will not be redundant occasions.

it would be wonderful for me to catch up with you. i remember when we =irst met (dinner at the safdies with henry and nitza) and also our =raipsing around old bond street in london.

all of this is to say, i hope you make it up to new york.
